    Laurie Ann Balmes (67) of Atlanta, passed away August 26th 2019. Originally from Long Island, NY, Laurie was born to Gino and Lorraine Bardi. Laurie loved all things art and was an award winning oil painter. She was an avid tennis player, gardener, and lover of the beach. She loved to travel the world and she adored spending time with her friends and family. She had an incredible sense of humor and a fashionable eye. Laurie will be missed by many. Survivors include her loving partner, Peter Capobianco, her children: Jaclyn Maxwell (Chris) and Samantha Balmes; her brother Robert Bardi (Elizabeth); and her grandchildren: Harrison Maxwell, Mark Maxwell and Everly Maxwell. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to The Alzheimer’s Association. A memorial mass will be held in her honor at Our Lady of the Assumption Catholic Church 1350 Hearst Drive NE Brookhaven GA 30319 on Friday, September 6th, 2019 at 11 am.     Laurie was a vital member of our tennis team over the many years we have been together. She brought enthusiasm, spirit and fun to our group. She will be greatly missed. My sincere sympathy to Pete, Jaclyn & Samantha.

    Laurie & I moved in Chatsworth with our families about the same time and became good friends. We played tennis together for years. She called me her little buddy & I called her Laurie B! My thoughts & prayers go out to you Jaclyn,Sam & Pete & family. Going to miss stopping by to see you Laurie B on my afternoon walks ( til you left home.) Love you!!! Your little buddy (Brenda Pullen)

    My relationship with Laurie was very brief in the extent of her life. That said, Laurie was always kind, witty, and down rite funny. You didn't need to be her "friend" to be her friend. I can say that I loved her sense of humor. God bless her soul and relieve her struggles.
